SunDog Achievements

  Zoom wins Grand Champion in Team Obedience at the 2008 Island County Fair under the training and handling of 4-H member Vanessa Sawyer! 

In the Spring of 2008, one of my fellow co-workers had to euthanize her dog for reasons too involved to discuss in this venue.  The dog had been her daughter's 4-H project and had been coming along extremely well.  Vanessa definitely has a gift for obedience training and she had worked consistently throughout the year with her boy to get him ready for Fair.  With only a few months to go until show-time, her beloved pet and 4-H project was suddenly gone.  As I am a proud 4-H alumna and I had plenty of dogs to spare, I offered Vanessa the use of Zoom.  She happily took on the responsibility and kept Zoom in her care for the months prior to fair.  When the time for the fair competition arrived, Vanessa's dedication paid off.  After only a few months of bonding and training, she and nine-month-old Zoom earned the title of Grand Champions in the Team Obedience competition!  I am so proud of Vanessa (and Zoom!)!  It was such a huge accomplishment!
