We are pleased to announce that our sweet Maizey (aka SunDog Amazin Perfection, RN CGC) was bred to Sharon and Chuck Hilton’s yellow male Labrador, Gordy (aka Int’l CH Hiltonhall Rainbow Warrior, WC) this past week.  This all-yellow litter is expected on July 15th, give or take a few days.  We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Chuck and Sharon Hilton of Hiltonhall Labradors for their continued approval of Maizey and for allowing us to breed her to their lovely yellow male Labrador, Gordy.

Both Gordy and Maizey have had their hearts and elbows certified for OFA via board-certified veterinary specialists, have their eyes examined annually by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmolgist for CERF, and have both been Optigen tested Clear (meaning they do not carry the gene for Progressive Retinal Atrophy).  In addition, Gordy earned a grading of "Excellent" on his OFA hip certification and Maizey scored "Good."

A waiting list has already been started for this litter...interested parties please feel free to contact us via telephone or email for more information.

For all SunDog litters, the pairing between our females and the stud dogs are carefully considered in order to ensure that both individuals complement each other's structures and demeanor and create as healthy and structurally sound representatives of the breed as possible.  In addition, we require that every female that we have covered and every stud dog utilized have all their clearances.  We strive to create Labradors with amazing dispositions...dogs that are eager to please, easy to train and are not overly excitable.  For more information on our girls, please follow the links to their pages.

Every effort is made to ensure that each one of our puppies are placed into responsible homes.  SunDog puppies are given a strong start to a long and healthy life through the provision of a full veterinary package.  For example, fecal examinations are performed on a regular basis and deworming provided as necessary.  Each pup is permanently identified with an AVID microchip and the entire series of vaccinations shall be administered in order to ensure its health (This series shall include the three vaccination series of Distemper, Hepatitis/Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus as well as Bordetella/Kennel Cough vaccine, and, at sixteen weeks of age, the Rabies vaccine.  In order to take full advantage of this full veterinary care, the new puppy owners must return to SunDog for their booster vaccines).  As appropriate to the age recommendations, puppies will be treated with the topical flea preventative, Frontline.  Finally, all puppies placed into pet homes will be spayed/neutered at six months of age.

If we find exemplary puppies in a litter, we may allow them to be left intact for future showing and breeding.  The purchase price will reflect the breeding value of the dog (to be determined upon evaluation of the puppy).  As show puppies cannot be assessed until they are eight weeks of age, no SunDog puppy will be released to their new homes until after these evaluations have been completed.
